Title: Luckiest Girl Alive
MPAA Rating: R
Director: Mike Barker
Starring: Mila Kunis, Chiara Aurelia, Finn Wittrock
Runtime: 1 hr 53 mins

What It Is: When Ani (Kunis) was younger she went through a horrific shooting. But that’s not the entire story. In fact, Ani has never really told her side of the story. This incident couldn’t have come at a worse time. She’s going through planning a wedding with her fiance Luke (Wittrock) as well as trying to get promoted to a job she’s been dreaming of for quite a while. Will all these things all catch up to her all at once?

What We Think: Quite a surprising film led by a surprisingly good performance from Mila Kunis. I have been, historically, very difficult on Mila Kunis because she’s just never really impressed me much in anything. Here she has a great combination of seriousness and being able to be taken seriously. In most of her roles previously I just never got it. What made her special. Even here I don’t get it but at least she’s giving an helluva performance. Netflix, normally you absolutely piss me off with your films. Here you’ve colored me surprised. I liked this, even if I can’t say I love it.

Our Grade: C+, This is a fairly average flick, but that’s high praise given some of what’s aired on Netflix in this year of our lord 2022. I mean if you really want some cheap, easy viewing. The reality tv sort of thing…well this is it. Outside of that there’s not much here. Grab your popcorn, pull up to the couch and enjoy. It’s on Netflix like I mentioned so it’ll be an easy watch and maybe just maybe it’ll surprise you even if it didn’t do much of anything for me. All things considered.
