Title: Love Accidentally
MPAA Rating: Not Rated
Director: Peter Sullivan
Starring: Brenda Song, Aaron O’Connell, Denise Richards
Runtime: 1 hr 25 mins

What It Is: Alexa (Song) has just been dropped by her boyfriend. It’s also her birthday…so…HAPPY BIRTHDAY! After this dumping, she ends up breaking her phone…accidentally. Now without her contacts, she sends a sad girl text to what she thinks is her best friend’s phone number. It ends up being the number of her arch nemesis Jason (O’Connell) the two begin a text chat that turns into something more. Even as the two are going head to head in real life.

What We Think: I hated this movie and it might actually be one of the worst I’ve seen in 2022. I’m literally the demographic, a hapless rom-com fan, but even with that lens, this isn’t good. It comes down to the logic of a lot of situations. They use text to speech whenever they’re alone but never whenever one and other (or anyone else) are around. Who does that? People who use text to speech use it all the time. The script is a jumbled, cliche-riddled mess, Song and O’Connell have no chemistry and the whole thing would be a lot more interesting if it was just a painted wall drying for a thankfully short 85 minutes. This film is a part of Prime Videos FreeVee and thank god they aren’t charging people to see this. That said I wanted to turn it off by the first commercial break.

Our Grade: F, Soulless garbage. That’s what this is. It’s a terrible experience for anyone who doesn’t watch Hallmark Movies every Christmas. If that’s you…well, YOU’RE the demographic. Wholly and solely. Brenda Song is a talented actress when given good material but the poor girl has absolutely nothing to work with here. Stay away far far away from this.
