Title: John Wick 3: Parabellum
MPAA Rating: R
Director: Chad Stahelski
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane
Runtime: 2 hr 11 mins

What It Is: Parabellum. It is Latin for “prepare for war” and also a semi-automatic pistol. Fitting then that this third time around for the “Baba Yaga” known as John Wick should be titled this. After a bounty of 14 million dollars is placed on his head he is going to have to fight his way through and out of it. Perhaps with the help of a longtime acquaintance Sofia (Berry), he will make it out alive. After what I’ve seen I like his odds.

What We Think: These John Wick films are just incredible action. Of all the guys you’d have pegged as this generations premiere action star, you’d be hard-pressed to convince me anyone would’ve pointed at Keanu Reeves as the answer. Likewise, this series wouldn’t have been my choice but it’s just the best. Reeves once again just gets what this character is and Chad Stahelski can really, truly shoot action. All of the series new additions work and the story though imperfect furthers the world-building. In regards to my issues with the story, the initial whole point of the film ends up being a sort of red herring.

Our Grade: A, They’ve done it again! They’ve really gone out here and made one of the best action films of the year. A continuation of a series that’s this generation best action property. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for this series. Do I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY! Go see this one immediately. This is one of my favorite films of the entire year. Will it last through the remainder of 2018 with awards season on the horizon? Let’s wait and see. In the mean it’s no longer in question…he’s back!
