Title:  Funeral Day
MPAA Rating: Not Rated
Director: Jon Weinberg
Starring: Jon Weinberg, Tyler Labine,  Suzy Nakamura
Runtime: 1 hr 20 mins

Storyline: Scott (Jon Weinberg) is a troubled man who decides he needs to turn his life around once he is unlikely inspired by his friend– who has died from cancer. However, he chooses the day of his friend’s funeral to take his plan into action. On his journey, he discovers that money, love, lust, and adventure does not truly change a person, but it is what we find out about ourselves that can help personal change.

How is it?: The film itself is okay. When it comes to the cinematography, scenes, and shots, it is really well done, and the effort shows. The actors are really giving their 100% and are trying to captivate the audience with their character. However, good cinematography and acting cannot help the very complicated storyline. The story, just like the main character Scott, takes a very long and tedious path to get to the end goal. There are excellent scenes that add to the story and make it worth the watch while other drag on way too long and could honestly be cut out and the message would still be conveyed. As for it dark humor, it receives a few chuckles; not many huge laughs. Though even with its little humor and very drawn out storyline, It is not that bad.

Grade: B-, The movie overall is not that bad. I believe it captures a particular audience. It is for an audience who likes to really question the idea behind not just the film, but the character of the story. It has scenes that draw it out too much, and the viewers can lose their interest. Good cinematography, good acting, but too long for what it is worth.
