Title: Justice League
MPAA Rating: PG-13
Director: Zack Snyder
Starring: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Mamoa
Runtime: 2 hrs

What It Is: Following the death of Superman after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice the world has fallen into madness. Now as a great threat by the name of Steppenwolf ascends upon our Earth Batman (Affleck) knows that now is the time to assemble all the research that both he and Diana aka Wonder Woman (Gadot) have done. Bringin the Scarlet Speedster The Flash (Ezra Miller), The King of Atlantis Arthur Curry aka Aquaman (Mamoa) and Victor Stone the Cyborg (Ray Fisher) into the fold. All to stop this unknown power from collapsing our world.

What We Think: So this is Zack Snyder movie for sure. Tons and tons, oodles and oodles of style with a really terribly organized script and mediocre editing. It looks beautiful but really isn’t a great film overall. Is it fun? Sure? Is it a spectacle? Yeah, it’s that too. Some of the CGI is a bit spotty. That’s really about the extent of the film. It’s a hodgepodge of moments that are sometimes expertly, sometimes lazily put together. Let’s throw in that Ezra Miller’s Flash was the MVP because he brought levity and fun to an otherwise dark proceeding.

Our Grade: C-, While not a total failure it certainly lacks much in the same ways DC’s previous endeavors did. It’s not very fun and I feel like a superhero type film like this should at the very least be fun. Steppenwolf was a lame villain who’s stakes were pretty much dwindled down by the film’s denouement. Overall I’d consider this a definite skip there’s just nothing here. Unless you’re a fan of DC’s properties. Really this just isn’t a great experience. Even if the film is pretty gorgeous cinematographically.
