Title: Aftermath
MPAA Rating: R
Director: Elliot Lester
Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maggie Grace, Scoot McNairy
Runtime: 1 hr 34 mins

What It Is: When an error by an air traffic controller Jake (McNairy) causes the death of Roman’s (Schwarzenegger) wife and daughter. After that, both the stranger’s lives become bound together by love, hate, and revenge. When these events lead to two lives becoming forever entwined. Events that won’t soon be forgotten.

What We Think:  It features Schwarzenegger’s best performance of his career and is very captivating with its story. This movie isn’t for everyone. The movie is very slow and never really kicks up and stays at a turtle’s pace. All the characters are well developed and you care about what happens to them and feel sad for them when something bad happens to the characters.

Roman is a very driven man and is well extremely well acted by Schwarzenegger and truly proves that he can still act and bring his A game. Scoot McNairy’s character is very heartfelt and raw that it is one the best performances I’ve seen from him. The events that go down are well executed and don’t feel wrong or out of place. Everything is very well shot and interesting to watch.

Our Grade: B+, Aftermath is a great retelling of the true events of the crash of two planes and a very sad movie. It’s slow in pace and that might turn off a lot of viewers but the acting is out of this world. Arnold proves himself and McNairy do as well. I’d highly recommend Aftermath to anyone who likes movies based on true events.
