Title: Bad Moms
MPAA Rating: R
Director: Jon Lucas, Scott Moore
Starring: Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, Kristen Bell
Runtime: 1 hr 40 mins

What It Is: When a hardworking and ever underappreciated mother Amy (Kunis) finds her husband cheating on her with a girl from the internet she realizes she is going far too hard. As she meets fellow overworked mother Kiki (Bell) and slacker Carla (Hahn) the trio begins to plot how they’ll defeat superstar PTA mom Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) and her cronies. With the grace of a greased elephant and the class of a trailer park urinal, these ladies are going to claw their way to the importance and try to make their family realize the important work they do from day to day.

What We Think: I had little to no expectations for this film. I thought the trailers were funny but what I got was something a little different. This is a very funny film. It’s raunchy and uncensored. It does not pull punches and really understands what it is. That, I think it the beauty of the film. I love Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell’s friendship here they pull the whole film together and are a laugh a minute. Hahn in particular steals almost every scene she is in.

Our Grade: B-, I’m really surprised and delighted by this film. It is way better than I hoped it would be. It’s got a dirty charm and an awkwardly intriguing charisma about it. There’s a sequel which is tentatively titled Bad Dads and it remains to be seen who’ll star in this. I like how this film summoned Bridesmaids and just let the ladies be funny, and funny they were. I’m going to go ahead and recommend that you all go and see this it’s worth your time!
