What It Is: Once the most powerful being in existance before his 38 year slumber, Beerus the God of Destrution has awaken and he seeks to find a Saiyan God of which he prophesized of. When it’s discovered that at present one does not exist he takes on the task of finding all the remaining Saiyan’s in order to find out if any of them know of this “Saiyan God”. First he finds Goku whose over on King Kai’s planet and informs him of the prophecy. Beerus is a loose cannon who will not hesitate to blow an entire planet up because he’s slightly irritated by it’s citizens. Goku realizes his family (his sons are half Saiyan) might be in trouble he heads over to where they are The Capsule Corp. compound for Bulma’s birthday. And it is here that Beerus will find the other Saiyan’s including Goku’s sons Gohan and Goten, and fan favorite father and son Vegata and Trunks. What’s going to happen with all that power in one small place? Find out this time on…Dragon Ball Z!

What We Think: This is one of if not the battiest story ever told in this world. Not only doesi t feature the shows signature over the top battles, but it takes its humor to the next level. It’s really funny, particularly its Beerus’ lines that really steal the show. It’s a pretty good overall feature and I don’t really know if this needed a big screen release. I would’ve been just as content to have purchased this on Blu-Ray or DVD from the get go. That said it really did what it was supposed to do…satiate the fanbase. It has everything you need for a good DBZ episode, but longer.

Our Grade: B+, It’s a good feature, but not great. I’d recommend any Dragon Ball Z fan check this out as it is a truly cool story that let’s you visit your favorite characters once more. That’s always the draw of DBZ, the characters. Theres no real reason for non-fans to check this one out as the mythology will only confuse and ruin the film. However, if you aren’t a fan we don’t know who you are anyway! 😉
