Title: “Black Widower”

What It Is: Following the shocking end of season six we’re left with Jax Teller in jail for his wife Tara’s murder. When we meet him he’s “taking care” of some business for the Aryan Brotherhood to soothe things over with them. When evidence to support Jax’s innocence in his wife Tara’s murder he’s released. Upon his release he goes right to business trying to smooth tensions between the black and hispanic gangs. The hispanic gang (Mayans) have aligned themselves with the Chinese Mafia in an attempt to counteract the power of the growing Black gang the Niners. With all those combustible elements coupled with the secrets held by Gemma Teller things may get very “testy” by this final seasons end.

What We Think: Once again this show gets off to an extremely violent, and compelling start. We’ll find out what is to come in the weeks leading up to the last episode. Drea De Matteo continues to impress, as does most of the cast in this well-acted show. Shock rocker Marilyn Manson makes an appearance here as the Stockton prisons AB leader. Also I’d like to give a shoutout to the fantastic Jimmy Smits whose character has been awesome since he got on the show.

Our Grade: A+, That’s how you begin a season! We get a continuation of the shocking events at the tail end of season six while having season seven introduce us to a variety of new and potentially exciting set pieces. What with a new sheriff in town, and Jax further making a mistake that we won’t reveal here, while Juice hides the secrets of both himself and Gemma. It’ll certainly be an interesting final year in Charming and all the twist and turns will just make this all the better!
