To the surprise of no one this weekend’s top grossing film was Marvel’s latest Captain America: The Winter Soldier which finished this weekend at number one with 96.2 million dollars. And if you read our review below you see why.
Finishing second was last weeks number one the Darren Aronofsky biblical epic Noah with 17 million, and rounding out the top three in it’s third week is the YA book to film The Hunger Games Lite….I mean Divergent with 13 million.
Two big surprises this week. One was the Wes Anderson helmed The Grand Budapest Hotel finishing ahead of the muppets to finish fifth. Oh and Captain America: The Winter Soldier breaking Fast Five‘s record for an April opening weekend, a record that stood for three years! Cap’s back and he’s not one to mess with.
Opening Next Week: Rio 2, Oculus, Draft Day, Only Lovers Left Alive, and Joe
