Title: Limitless
MPAA Rating: PG-13
Director: Neil Burger
Starring: Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, Robert DeNiro
Runtime: 1 hr 45 mins

What It Is? Eddie Morra (Cooper) is very unspectacular. In fact his life has just took an even further plummet down the toilet. His longtime girlfriend Lindy (Cornish) just dumped him. He also cannot seemed to begin writing this book that he’s been given an advance to write. Suddenly one day out of the blue Eddie’s former brother-in-law appears and offers him something he’s never heard of before. NZT, a drug that the his pusher former brother-in-law claims is FDA certified. NZT is a drug that allows a human to use 100% of there brain. And it’s with this power that lowly Mr. Morra becomes Wall Streets hottest trader, catching the eye of big time mega-mogul Carl Van Loon (DeNiro). Insofar that Mr. Van Loon has sanctioned Eddie to broker his companies largest merger. Questions a raise when Eddie realizes that he must take NZT or it may kill him. How will he deal with his newfound dependency? Will he be able to broker Van Loon’s merger?

What We Think? While Cooper is normally known for his more comedic roles, here he tackles the source material with a style and grace, and along with Burger’s penchant for seat of the pants direction make for not only a thrill ride of a viewing experience, but an aesthetically pleasing one as well. Cinematographically this film paints a unique picture of a even more unique sci-fi adventure.

Our Grade: B+, while the script doesn’t lend itself to being believed per say it does make for a unique viewing experience, one that in and of itself is amazing. Let alone it was released on the cusp of the summer movie season, and gave everyone a breath of fresh air as we readied for a slew of sequels and terrible remakes.
