Hello, Snobs! It has come to the attention of a certain editor that this summer has been completely underwhelming when we talk about box-office numbers. What we’re going to do is examine the validity of that claim. We’ll start with the opening Friday in May which is the unofficial start of summer and we’ll go all the way through the second weekend in August. We’ll go over opening weekend receipts since those are the best indicators, they’ll also give us a feel for audience tastes in regards to these films. All box-office numbers courtesy of www.boxofficemojo.com check them out if you need the know on the numbers for your favorite feature films. Without further ado let’s crunch some numbers.

The year was 2009, and I sat in a movie theatre with my girlfriend of about 4 years.
The lights dimmed, and the movie began.
Little did I know, the next 95 minutes, I would partake on a cinematic adventure that would define my early to mid-20s, to a tee.

If you haven’t seen the film, (500 Days of Summer takes us through the relationship of Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel), as Tom recounts the 500 days (in random order) Summer has been a part of his life.
The film has become a favorite of mine to watch, when sad about a girl, because I relate to it perfectly. And when you’re sad, all you want is to know you aren’t alone.
I’ve learned many life/relationship lessons from this film. I’m going to give you 5 of them…
