Title: Isn’t It Romantic

What It Is: Architect Natalie (Wilson) has never been told her whole life that love is a fantasy and that romantic comedies are a catalyst for that illusion. One night after work she is mugged and turns face first into a metal pole, knocking her cold. When she awakens her life is now one of those romantic comedies she has so much hostility towards. Her best work friend is now a catty enemy, her new client, the handsome Blake (Hemsworth) is now both Australian and into her. What will Natalie do to escape this purgatory she’s gotten herself into?

What We Think: Can I start by saying this is an adorable film? That’s what I’m going to do. Rebel Wilson makes for a great romantic lead. She’s funny and once again her delivery is perfect for the materials given. Having three women (Erin Cardillo, Dana Fox, and Katie Silberman) write the film helps SO MUCH with making this both charming and clearly on point. Silberman, in particular, wrote the fantastic Set It Up. I enjoyed the story told, the jokes are funny and everything wraps up in less than 90 minutes.

Our Grade: B+, I went in with the expectation of liking this. Typically this can lead to a film being rather underwhelming. Here though I got exactly what I wanted. I can for sure recommend this. It’s a film that is a GREAT date movie. Great film when you just want to have a fantastic time at the movie, or even something that you could really take your whole family to. Why is Adam Devine the only love interest/best friend/friendzoned dude movies can find for Rebel? That is one thing I really didn’t like. I do look forward to more from both the director and the writers. It’s fun stuff.
