Title: Hearts Beat Loud

What It Is: Frank Fisher (Offerman) is a former musician who now owns a music store in the Redhook district of Brooklyn, New York. Now after almost twenty years he’s having to close it. On top of that his teenage daughter Sam (Clemons) is headed off to college. As her final days of summer approach, she and her dad write a song that ends up going viral. Now Frank wants to take Same on tour as success has finally come his way. But life, as it does has made him realize that though his business will be gone as will his daughter that life doesn’t stop. So, perhaps just stop, listen to the music and enjoy! 

What We Think: This might be my favorite movie thus far in 2018! Of all the narrative fiction I’ve watched this year this one had the most heartfelt and beautiful scripts I’ve heard in some time. Casting is pitch perfect particularly Offerman and Clemons just mesh. The music is awesome especially the title song which will get stuck in your head for several days after.

Our Grade: A+, I said it. I said it and I don’t regret it. This is a film I am certain I’ll go back to consistently. This film is to the epitome of “feel-good”. It is currently available on video on demand and soon you (and I) can take it home to rewatch. Of course, I’m going to recommend this one. Very highly. Check this one out ASAP. Kiersey Clemons continues a run of strong performances with that and An L.A. Minute both under her belt this year. Not to mention she was also fantastic in Dope and an intriguing part of Spiderman: Homecoming. Needless to say, I’m excited to see what she does next.
