Title: Blue My Mind

What It Is: Mia (Wedler) is a 15-year-old girl living in Switzerland. She’s your typical teen in that she’s rather angsty, has a somewhat turbulent relationship with her parents. As she finally receives her period something strange begins to occur with her body. Alongside this, she gets mixed up with the wrong group of rather promiscuous girls led by Gianna (Pastelle Holthuizen) who are also showing her a side of herself that perhaps she didn’t know existed and now, maybe, she didn’t want to know did. 

What We Think: This film for sure tells a story we’ve kinda seen before. A girl changes slowly into something that is not wholly the same as before. Raw, Wildling both do this. It is girl power put together in a coming of age story that has some sort of unique angle to it. I won’t reveal the twist but when it happens…or starts happening you’ll really get floored as it all unfolds. Our young lead really grabs hold of this film and knocks it out of the park. I look forward to seeing what she does in the future. 

Our Grade: B-, This is a really decent film and one I can for sure see audiences enjoying. Audiences that don’t mind subtitles. Those of you that can’t see through that…well I just can’t mess with you. You’re in for a treat. Even the effects used in this one look pretty good. Considering the budget and that it’s a foreign made film from a country not known for high budgets. A solid recommendation for sure. I do wish you luck in finding it as presently there’s no American release date. It’s simply hitting the festival circuit.
