Title: Transformers: The Last Knight

What It Is: Transformers The Last Knight is the fifth entry in the Transformers franchise. The plot is that the Auto-bots and Decepticons are at war and the humans are getting in the way. Cade Yeager (Wahlberg) is the main protagonist and he leads a team to stop the humans and Deceptions from killing every last Auto-Bot. The history of the Transformers is revealed and the world is at stake.

What We Think: Transformers The Last Knight was a mess. This movie fails on every level and I mean every one. The action is serviceable at best but is far from entertaining and engaging because it is just a bunch of mindless explosions that are so loud and flashy that you cant even see whats going on. The new characters that are introduced into this movie and all unneeded and serve no purpose. The acting in this movie was embarrassingly bad. Mark Walhburg is thankfully not going to be in the next Transformers movie because if he was, it may ruin his career. His acting in this film was just bad. It felt like he just wanted for the movie to be over with and get the paycheck.

Now to possibly one of the worst child actors I have ever seen act Isabela Moner plays Izabella (what a stretch), a child who is a rebel fighter against the Decepticons and doesn’t do anything the whole movie. Her acting is so forced that it’s laughable. She tries to be this tough, independent, strong female role but ends up falling flat on her face. She comes off as rude and annoying rather than strong and independent and overall is completely unnecessary. She’s in the movie for just about 30 minutes and every minute was painful to watch her act.

The plot itself feels rehashed and done before, and it has been done earlier in the year with The Fate Of The Furious which both share roughly the same plot (both lead characters are turned evil against their own will). The pacing was pretty fast but maybe too fast. Everything happened very quickly and so fast that I missed quite a couple of things and ended up being confused. Everything is pretty bad to expect one thing, the visuals. The visuals for the Transformers are pretty good and Michael Bay is good at making them look realistic but honestly, that the only thing Michael Bay can do right with these movies.

Our Grade: F, Transformers The Last Knight is perhaps the worst entry into the franchise and it really shows. From its flashy and nauseating action scenes to its weak plot and even weaker villains, Transformers 5 proves that they should probably end the franchise here and just let it be done with. Sadly there is plans for 3 more entries, 2 being Transformers 6 and 7, and the other being a Bumblebee solo movie. Now that is all said, I highly advise to stay far away from this movie and go see something worthy of a $12 ticket price like Spiderman: Homecoming or Baby Driver.
