Title: Arsenal
MPAA Rating: R
Director: Steven C. Miller
Starring: Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, Adrian Grenier
Runtime: 1 hr 33 mins

What It Is: When two brothers lose everything as children they go in very opposite directions. Older brother Mikey (Jonathan Schaech) goes the route of dealing drugs and performing various felonies for local NOLA kingpin Eddie King (Cage). Meanwhile, younger brother JP (Grenier) is a successful contractor. When JP gets mixed up in something deep following Mikey getting abducted by Eddie and his muscle. Now JP has to decide whether to give in to their demands or perhaps take manners into his own hands.

What We Think: This movie is absolutely terrible. Like so bad, but really I wasn’t expecting much else out of it. Nicholas Cage has at this point given up Adrian Grenier is all but done doing anything major. Did he really do anything besides Entourage anyway? There’s nothing one well here and everything is terrible. The cinematography is cliched and an overuse of bullet-time and crap CGI. Structurally this is as flawed as a script can be. Circular nonsequiturs that are unabashedly looked over. It’s a huge hole, a gaping wound of sorts that the director nor screenwriter bothers to remedy.

Our Grade: F, This is unforgivable. How with all good intention something like this got made and produced is a complete shock to me? Why anyone would find anything here to be enjoyed is beyond me. I cannot recommend anyone see this film. Do not even look at the container of the home release or VOD. I wish that I could understand what goes through the mind of someone within this production. Don’t see this, in fact at this point if you see Nicholas Cage’s name on the marquee stay away. To that, I’ll second that for John Cusack.
