Title: Justice League vs Teen Titans

What It Is: With Batman having had it with his son Damian’s (Stuart Allan) behavior he takes him to Titan Tower in order to perhaps learn how to work in a team. One member of the Titans, Raven (Farmiga), seems to have some similarities to Damian. Meanwhile, Raven’s father Trigon (Jon Bernthal) wants to bring her back home. Home is basically Hell, though. In order to get her back there or at the very least get Trigon up to Hell, he’ll do anything. What he does is take possession of the heroes of The Justice League. This means the Titans must fight the Justice League in order to keep Trigon in Hell where he belongs or risk sending Raven right on back down to daddy’s home. 

What We Think: Warner Bros. animation has been making these things with a fairly consistent clip. This is very good for them from a monetary standpoint, but sometimes the quality is hit or miss. A lot of the stuff they’ve done with Batman like Son of Batman and that ilk has not been great lately. Likewise things like Justice League: War or Flashpoint Paradox  are great. This lies somewhere in the middle. It’s good, but not great. I really like the focus they put on the Teen Titans, in a more mature sense. Raven is a really interesting character and I think they told her story well. From a voice acting perspective there’s some great stuff going on. Taissa Farmiga should come back as Raven she’s great there. Brandon Soo Hoo was awesome as Beast Boy.

Our Grade: C+, It’s enjoyable but not something you can’t live without. Warner Bros. is going to continue churning these out. They’re cheap and tend to sell okay. If they can keep the quality  at a higher level they can continue to tell stories like these that would be ridiculously difficult to shoot with actual actors. Which if we’re casting a real-life Raven I’m voting for perhaps Taissa Farmiga. I mean she’s been a witch before, she has done horror, why not right?
