Title: Shaun the Sheep

What It Is: Shaun is smarter than your average sheep. Not only does he understand the mundane life he lives, he’s come up with a way to circumvent it. In this plan he strands their farmer master in the big city, probably for what he thinks is a vacation. When the plan isn’t as successful as Shaun wanted it to be he’s then forced to change it up, to disastrous results of course. When it all does go down hill it’ll be up to Shaun to guide his sheep buds, and their farmer back home, along the way they will fight many mitigating circumstances.

What We Think: This is a really good movie! Not only is this truly charming and unique but this movie portrays more emotion without a single word than do most other films with a full script. Not only is this funny it really is something the whole entire family can enjoy. Aardman continues to bring quality to stop-motion. They do so with a wry, extremely British turn to the humour (see what I did there) one that translate into any culture do to the films lack of actual words. One thing to look out for is the movie references scattered throughout it. That is sure to appease the adult movie fans in the audience.

Our Grade: A-, Shaun the Sheep Movie is something I urge you to support in the theater. Seeing this film will tell the studio that we as an audience are ready for more films just like this one. Whereas other animation studios are relying on the building of franchises and telling the same ole stories Aardman continues to tell interesting and cool stories with characters that are funny, weighted and entertaining.
