Title: Two Night Stand

What It Is: Megan is in a real rut. She’s graduated and has no job, no longer has a boyfriend, and really doesn’t have any prospects for either. She decides to try online dating. While doing this she meets Alec a sarcastic bank worker. The two have a one night stand, but when the biggest blizzard in New York City history strikes they’re forced together in the strangest (and most awkward) of ways. As they are stuck together for one more day at least they’ll grow a bit closer and perhaps learn something about not only each other but themselves.

What We Think: It’s poor. Poorly written, poorly executed and lacks entertainment. Miles Teller is better than this, and I cannot wait for Whiplash to wash the stain of this out of my palette. It isn’t all bad, Teller and Tipton have pretty good chemistry, and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi is pretty good in his limited role. I am honestly completely disappointed with this, and I thought perhaps this film would bring some laughs, unfortunately, it didn’t. While a chuckle may have been had here or there sadly it wasn’t enough to keep my interest and I found myself thinking more about what I wanted to eat when I got done.

Our Grade: D, A disappointment in every way has nothing of any interest and even less substance. It relies more on stereotypes and cliche and many many things we’ve seen done a million times and a million times better. Analeigh Tipton feels like she’s playing the same role that she started playing on her new TV sitcom all the while Teller smiles and laughs sarcastically. In essence, he’s just doing what he’s been doing in like three of his other movies. This kid has talent I just so wish he’d properly utilize it. Here’s to Whiplash being better, wayyyy better.
