Title: Taxi Driver
Year: 1976
Whose In It: Robert De Niro, Harvey Kietel, Jodi Foster
What The Heck Is It: You talkin’ to me? That’s the query on everyones mind by the end of Scorsese’s seventies master stroke. The fact that we can revel in Travis Bickle’s world of insomnia, and mental illness from the comfort of our living rooms, or anywhere else means this classic is accessible whenever. A killer turn by De Niro as a taxi driver that “Thanks God for the rain to wash the trash off the sidewalk”. Jodi Foster playing a lady (or in this case girl) of the night makes for another interesting casting decision. Whatever it may be that happens this film will leave you wondering what just happened and hoping for more.
