What It Is?: Emmet Brickowski (Pratt) is just an ordinary guy (made of Legos) living his mundane life of following instructions, and moving on. Everything changes one day when he is mistaken for “the special one” a person who is the most important person on the planet. It is foretold that they and only can stop the evil President/Lord Business (Will Farrell) from using the ultimate weapon to destroy the world. This happens to Emmet when one day he loses his instructions and goes about recovering them. He then sees the one thing that can save this world, and making Wyldstyle (Banks) believe that Emmet is “the special one” and is willing to go to the ends of the world for him. Man was she wrong! With the help of Vitruvius she will have to will Emmet to his inevitable destiny all the while dealing with all the peril President Business presents in the form of his T-2000 like Bad Cop (Liam Neeson). Not to worry they have help…from Batman! (Will Arnett)

What We Think: As the title theme would have you believe everything in this film is awesome! From the perfect voice casting, to the storytelling this film brings it all! And it does so with a heart that is unmatched in any animated film since Wreck-It Ralph. I cannot imagine Emmet being anyone BUT Chris Pratt he brings this minifigure to life and really carries the story. Will Arnett’s Batman stole the show in alot of the scenes he’s in, and there’s an amazing balance of childish fun, with adult gags that will have the parents laughing out loud. Everything in this film is incredibly detailed from the water being made of Lego’s to the amazing site of all the cityscapes made of the same titular Dutch bricks.

Our Grade!: A, This is without a doubt the best animated film that will be put out in 2014, because if it isn’t well then it’ll be a great year.This is also the best film released thus far in 2014, and this particular point is not hyperbole. Some amazing cameos by previous Miller & Lord cast members Channing Tatum (as Superman) and Jonah Hill (as The Green Lantern) make for just a fraction of the incredible cameos. But for me my favorite character was 1987 Astronaut Ben voiced by Charlie Day. Trust me on this he’s amazing! Go see this,go see it now, and perhaps everything for you will likewise be awesome!
